Aero Empire

Aerosphere Studios - Cumulonimbus Engine - Coming late 2010 / early 2011

Imagine a world where the villages of humans were scattered along mountaintops, and the world below was completely blocked off by an impassible wall of clouds. In a world like that, air travel would precede both land and sea. This is the kind of world that Aero Empire is set in. In this world, the player can rise the ranks, from a lowly gunner manning a turret aboard an airship, to the commander of a nation, controlling the tides of war and the armies of that nation. With the ability to talk to and influence your fellow coworkers and superiors, you can also perform a rebellion or coup d'etat, breaking free and taking control of your own nation. Aero Empire is a cross genre game, incorporating elements of role playing games, shooters, flight simulators, real time strategy and tactics. The world is populated with thousands of AI with their own desires and personalities, creating a dynamic and ever changing world.

Game Guide

Introduction

Aero Empire is a multi-staged single and multiplayer game. You can play through a story scenario from beginning to end, or start a custom game where you start at any given stage.

The world is populated by thousands of Non-Player Characters (NPCs) controlled by artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms. The NPCs will have their own personalities and will interact with players throughout the game. They will be put in charge of various posts, with the same ability to rise in the ranks and achieve their goals just as the players can.

The game consists of many stages – and each stage has its own style of gameplay. In each stage, you head out on several missions – whether the mission was planned by you, selected by you, or selected by a superior. During the mission, you will have command of your post, and a set of mission objectives to complete. Successful completion of missions will help you get promotions to other stages, and failure of missions could result in a demotion.

Between missions, you can explore towns and cities, look at new mission postings, converse with fellow crewmates and superiors, buy and sell equipment and manage subordinates. Additionally, if you are an admiral, you can plan new missions and manage national resources and funds. Otherwise, you can gain followers and plan a coup d’etat or rebellion to become an admiral on your own.

In addition to normal missions that you choose and execute, you can also be thrown into a mission because of the actions of an enemy nation. This includes surprise attacks on your fleet while in transit and invasions of the city you are currently residing in.

The Game Guide explains these features in detail and gives you all of the information you need to know about Aero Empire.

Nice level of info here. There is a lot data around about this topic that sometimes you can’t see the wood for the trees but you’ve pitched this at just the right degree so that the lay individual can comprehend - thank you!
